Healthy Communities, Resilient Futures:
Public Health Annual Review

Dear Tulsa County residents,
As we navigate the challenges of public health, our unwavering dedication to the well-being of all Tulsa County residents remains at the forefront of our endeavors. The past year has been a testament to the power of collective commitment, innovation, and the tireless pursuit of a healthier tomorrow.
Our journey is fueled by a resolute commitment to fostering the health and well-being of the communities we serve. We believe that health is not merely the absence of illness but the presence of opportunities for individuals to thrive, families to flourish, and communities to prosper.
This year has witnessed significant milestones that underscore our dedication to building a healthier Tulsa. The $8.3 million Public Health Infrastructure Grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention marks a pivotal moment in our journey, fortifying the very infrastructure that sustains the Tulsa Health Department.
In 2022, we took a bold step forward with the establishment of the Office of Community Health and Quality Improvement – a central hub for large department plans and assessments. This strategic move amplifies our organizational capabilities, ensuring a more cohesive and streamlined approach to public health initiatives.
We also celebrated milestones that echo the impact of our work. The 25th anniversary of Children First: Oklahoma's Nurse-Family Partnership in October 2022 is a testament to a quarter-century of nurturing health and well-being of first-time mothers within our community. Additionally, November marked the 10th anniversary of the North Regional Health and Wellness Center. These represent our enduring commitment to accessibility and community wellness.
We need to continue to focus forward and face the challenges in ways unseen in previous public health crises and I am very proud of how we serve and how much we care about others at the Tulsa Health Department.
